The initial discussions around conflict bring an obvious problem to light. This picture captures it better than I can describe. Two people coming from two different directions trying to meet in the middle, but their relational miscalculations can’t get them there.
How do you as a leader help bridge the gap? Your role is to bring the focus onto solution rather than the problem.
The challenge in bringing people together is in bridging the gap of their perspectives. To do this requires a willingness on your part to ask open ended questions focused on solutions. The problems will be evident. Practice taking what you hear and turning it into a question that points toward personal responsibilty for solution.
